Platform Connection Guides

Choose your platform and follow connection directions.  You must first download Rithmic R | TRADER in conjunction with any other platform you may use.

NOTICE:  Before connecting any other trading platform, please ensure that all market data forms in R|Trader are completed.

  • Use the following link to download and install R|Trader Sofware: R|Trader
  • Once installed, a new window will come up, enter your MES account username and password in the appropriate fields, as shown in the screenshot below
  • “Username” (USER ID – found in your welcome email)
  • “Password” (found in your welcome email)
  • “System” dropdown menu, select “MES Capital”
  • “Gateway” drop-down menu, If you are in the USA then select CHICAGO, and if you are in Asia you will want to select TOKYO or SINGAPORE
  • When you connect, you have 2 CME GROUP Documents that you need to agree to.
  • Document 1: Click “I Agree” in the first one
  • Document 2: select “Non-Professional” then “Submit”

Click “REMEMBER ME” in order to avoid having to input your username and password at every login.  Your login credentials will be saved and automatically populated at every startup.

R|Trader Login Issues:

During Marke Close, weekends, and holidays, Rithmic performs routine maintenance and updates and you may experience trouble logging into R Trader during those times.

If you are having trouble logging into R Trader while the market is open, please check for the following:

  • Check that your case-sensitive credentials are entered correctly.
  • If your username/password doesn’t work, try to COPY and PASTE it from your login email.  Avoid COPYING empty spaces.
  • Confirm that the System is listed as MES Capital, NOT Rithmic 01. If Rithmic 01 is selected, click on it to select  MES Capital.

Within R|Trader, click on the “Recent Orders” icon and you will be able to see any working orders and filled trades for the current day. To look beyond the current day, click on the “Order History” icon. Within R|Trader, click on the “Trader Dashboard” and refer to “PNL” column to view Net P&L and account balances. You are required to have a personal license key for MultiCharts in order to use the platform during the Tryouts. License keys can be purchased for multiple durations: lifetime, quarterly, 6 months, or annual.

DO NOT CONTINUE IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED STEP #1 (ABOVE)

Before proceeding, please make sure that your MultiCharts platform is updated to the latest version.  To check for updates, click on HELP > Check for Updates.

  • Open MultiCharts.
  • From the main menu bar, click on File –> Broker Profiles –> Manage Broker Profiles.
  • The Broker Profile menu will appear. From here, click New and choose Rithmic 01.
  • A menu called “Properties Rithmic 01” will now appear.
  • Insert your Login username and Password that has been provided to you by MES Capital. Select MES Capital under the “Deployment” option and then leave all the rest of the fields within the “Connectivity” section alone. When finished, click OK. This will now bring you back to the Broker Profile menu.
  • From the Broker Profiles menu, rename the Rithmic 01 connection.
    Once renamed, select the Rithmic connection and click Connect.
  • Once connected, update the data for your charts and DOMs with the MES Capital connection.
  • Ensure your connection is properly setup in real-time.
    1. Open the R|Trader platform
    2. Sign in using the same username and password provided to you to connect your MultiCharts system to Rithmic. Select “MES Capital” for the connection.
    3. Within R|Trader, click on the “Recent Orders” icon and you will be able to see any working orders and filled trades for the current day. To look beyond the current day, click on the “Order History” icon.
    4. If your orders are not seen on R|Trader, make sure that you are NOT trading on the “Sim” account within your MultiCharts platform.

Commissions and Fees

Though MultiCharts does not offer the ability to view your current Net P&L while trading, you can monitor your intraday Net P&L via the R|Trader platform. Please follow the steps below in order to install R|Trader on your computer.

  • Download the R|Trader platform (Rithmic’s integrated trading platform)
  • Install the program on your computer
  • Open the R|Trader platform
  • Sign in using the same username and password provided to you to connect your MultiCharts system to Rithmic. Select “MES Capital” for the connection.
  • Within R|Trader, click on the “Recent Orders” icon and you will be able to see any working orders and filled trades for the current day. To look beyond the current day, click on the “Order History” icon.

STEP 2 – INSTALL VOLFIX

  • Download VolFix software
  • Ensure your connection is properly setup in real time

Start the application and log in using your login credentials:

STEP 3 – CONNECTING TO RITHMIC:

1. Order Window -> popup menu (right button click) -> Account Connections -> Rithmic
2. Click on Add
3. Enter your login and password for Rithmic account
4. Click on Apply
5. In case of successful connection close Rithmic Connections Window
6. In the list of accounts (Order Window -> Account) select your account XXXXX RT
7. Trade

All functions of Order Window and Autofollow desk are available.
All complex orders (T/S, S/L, T/P, Trigger) are processed and stored on server and will work with closed terminal
Ability to connect to any number of Rithmic logins simultaneously (3 logins for free)

Attention! Try reconnect the gateway, In case of any errors. Set State=OFF click Аpply, after set State=ON and Аpply click on Order Window -> setup -> Account Connections -> Rithmic.

Sierra Chart Connection Instructions

Since you will be using the Rithmic data feed, you will be required to complete the CME Market Data Requirements for Rithmic.

Please complete this step before you move on to the connection to Sierra Chart!

Step 1.

Step 2.

Launch Sierra Chart platform. To connect please click on File >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Select Rithmic from the “Server” drop-down list.

Step 3.

Add Rithmic to Connection Settings

In the Connection Details window please fill in the following:

  • Service: Rithmic Trading
  • Server: Use MES Capital
  • Username: Credentials emailed to you
  • Password: Credentials emailed to you
  • Timezone: Use Your Timezone

Step 4.

Click on File >> Connect to Data Feed.

Trade Navigator

Do I need a license to use Trade Navigator?

The basic version is free, but add-ons require a separate payment. You can compare versions here.

After a 30-day free period, Trade Navigator also requires a monthly data fee subscription when trading futures, which can be purchased here.

Trade Navigator Connection Instructions

You must fill out the Market Data Requirement forms in R|Trader before you can connect the Trade Navigator platform to Rithmic.

Install Trade Navigator

*Before continuing: Please contact Trade Navigator’s support, and request that the Rithmic Plug-in be made available on your platform account. Phone numbers and email are listed here:

  • Click the Trade Navigator icon on your Desktop. The first time you open Trade Navigator it will ask you if you would like to connect to a Real-Time Server. Please choose ‘No’.
  • Locate the blue ‘Phone’ icon in the top left-hand corner and click on it. A small window will pop up in the center of your platform.
  • Choose ‘Download Special’ file, and then click ‘Start’. This window should close and another will open up that will download the needed files. This may take a moment.
  • After the files are done downloading another window will pop-up and ask if you would like to upgrade now. Please choose ‘Yes’. Follow the prompts until Trade Navigator asks you if you need to re-import Genesis libraries. Please choose ‘Re-import’ and then the platform will open up again.
  • You should then see a message asking if you would like to Connect to a Real-time server again. This time please choose ‘Yes’.
  • Enter your Rithmic credentials and choose ‘Login.’ Once connected, you’ll receive a message stating: ‘There is no activity to verify this time.’ This is just letting you know your account has no open positions.
  • Ensure your connection is properly setup in real-time.

How to: Find Net P&L including commissions and fees

Though Trade Navigator does not offer the ability to view your current Net P&L while trading, you can monitor your intraday Net P&L via the R|Trader platform. Please follow the steps below in order to install R|Trader on your computer.

Trade Navigator does NOT show your accurate account balance or intraday P&L (including commissions and fees). Please use R|Trader to track and monitor P&L, intraday balances, and account balances.

Use R|Trader for monitoring P&L

  • Download the R|Trader platform (Rithmic’s integrated trading platform).
  • Install the program on your computer
  • Open the R|Trader platform
  • Sign in using the same username and password provided to you to connect your Trade Navigator system to Rithmic. Select “MES Capital” for the connection.
  • Within R|Trader, click on the “Recent Order” icon and you will be able to see any working orders and filled trades for the current day. To look beyond the current day, click on the “Order History” icon

Platform Subscription Information

You are required to have a personal license key for NinjaTraders in order to use the platform. License keys can be purchased for multiple durations: quarterly, 6 months, or lifetime. Note, Direct Edition license keys are not valid and will not work.

Can I use my own license key?

Yes, “Rithmic for Ninjatrader Brokerage” or “Rithmic”  will work with our MES Capital logins. If you already have your own license and that’s not a visible option under PROVIDER when you add a connection, then you must contact Ninjatrader Support to enable MES Capital Rithmic connection for your license key.

Our provided License key will automatically have the proper Rithmic server as the only option in adding.

What version do I need?

You will need Ninjatrader 7 update 35 or higher or the latest version of Ninjatrader 8

STEP 2.  INSTALL NINJATRADER

OR  Download NinjaTrader 8

If a “Get Connected” window pops up, click the “skip” button located on the bottom left-side of the pop-up.

IMPORTANT: MUST USE LATEST VERSION OF NT 8: Update to newest version in order to have “MES CAPITAL ENABLED” Download Here

STEP 3.  From the NinjaTrader control center: 

  • Click on the Tools menu, then select Account Connections
  • Click Add
  • The Connection Options menu will pop-up:
  • Click Next
  • Connection Name: Rithmic
  • Provider: Rithmic
  • To Connect on Startup, click the box to enable
  • Historical Data, select: Enabled
  • Click Next
  • Username, type: (found in Account Information email)
  • Password, type: (found in Account Information email)
  • System: MES Capital
  • Click Next
  • Click Finish
  • Close Account Connection Set Up window
  • From the NinjaTrader Control Center, click on the File menu, hover over Connect and click Rithmic
  • You should now see a green box on the bottom left of your NinjaTrader Control Panel that says “Connected to Rithmic”

NINJATRADER  CONNECTIONS TROUBLESHOOTING

If you can’t log in to NinjaTrader Rithmic

  • If you are unable to log into NinjaTrader, this most likely means that you have not successfully logged into RTrader. Start with Step 1 of the NinjaTrader connection Instructions.

If you can’t select your MES ACCOUNT from the DOM or charts

  • Navigate to NinjaTrader Control Panel > Click File > Uncheck “Global Simulation Mode”
  • Make sure your GLOBAL SIMULATION MODE is off

If you can’t uncheck Global Simulation Mode

  • Navigate to Ninjatrader Control Panel > Click Help > Select License Key > Select All and Copy
  • Navigate to Ninjatrader Control Panel > Click Help > Select License Key > Select All and Paste your license key
  • Select “NO” when asked if you want NinjaTrader to be in Global Simulation Mode on startup.
  • Restart Ninjatrader

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE GETTING STARTED

  • ALWAYS monitor your NET P&L in R|Trader rather than NinjaTrader by clicking on Trader Dashboard, and locating the column labeled PNL. R|Trader automatically calculates commissions and fees, while NinjaTrader does not display your Net P&L accurately in real time. MES Capital’s Trade Reports are calculated using the data from R|Trader.
  • SIM101 trades will NOT be sent to us. Please be sure to trade in the correct account (found in Account Information email).
